Howdy from DFW

Post by AddyLO »

Howdy all,

I'm new to the form and to CHL. Just sent my packet two weeks ago so I'm playing the waiting game now and shopping for holsters, belts, etc.

I've got a ton of questions but I'm sure I'll find most of the answers by reviewing posts. I am very much looking forward to learning from this forum.

I've seen several references to the "Wally Walk". Based on the mentions I've seen I get the general gist but is there a link or post describing this tradition? Sorry if this question is redundant but I looked for a sticky post and also tried a search and came up with around 200 pages of "hits" on the term. I'm sure the needle is somewhere in that haystack but if someone can point me to it I would appreciate it.

And so it begins. Welcome to the forum.

Thanks for the link! That's so often referred to it should probably be sticky. I'd have never found it.

Yep. I spent a couple of hours at the High Caliber Gun and Knife Show today looking at holsters. MAN! So many choices, how do you choose? I went into a state of "analysis paralysis" and ended up buying nothing at all (well, except some 147 grain hydra-shok  ).

My CHL instructor said it would be like this.

I have learned to seek the advise of the many wise members of this forum.
I initially made the mistake of going the cheap, uninformed route only to discover that doing a little research and spending the few extra dollars makes a huge difference when it comes to selecting a good holster.

With all that said, you should definitely look into the Crossbreed Super Tuck if you decide to carry inside the waistband.
I'm sure others will agree, and some may offer other options as well.

I've looked into the Crossbreed and like what I see. It's definitely a candidate.

Another option I've seen mentioned on this forum is the MTAC. Looks like quite a few members prefer it over the Crossbreed.

I can already tell this forum is going to be a valuable resource. Many thanks to the proprietor and mods!
