I've found that my limit for being comfortable while sitting with my firearm is about an hour and a half (or roughly the time of a regular length movie). I thought getting a much better holster (The Answer) would be "the answer" for that problem, but it's not. I came back from a study group to eat some dinner, and am planning on leaving my firearm at my house when I go back because I can't take the uncomfortableness of this gun poking and prodding me.

Is that normal to not be comfortable while sitting, or is this holster just not working out for me?
was at the theater the other day and had OWB Galco Fletch at around 4:00 for me ...no comfort //elbow nudging, etc.....only time I notice anything if when on long walk with dogs and rt hip little sore when I get back home....
Never had any problems with my 5.11 vest and inside storage....for my 232 Sig or 239 Sig...no fatigue or discomfort whatsoever.

How big is your carry weapon & how heavy? If you are carrying a 5" gun that weighs 40oz loaded, that is a lot of wt & a long pole to point somewhere. Four inch or shorter & 28 oz should be a goal for really long term setting. Also time will help you adjust to the new feel of things.

I was carrying my gun with an IWB for half a day and my hip felt bruised. I thought about switching to pocket carry for the rest of that evening but I just kept shifting it. I don't know. I'm curious to see the responses too.

never had that problem. i carry a big 92FS or a 1911 in an iwb holster, or a paddle/belt slide holster. if i'm wearing shorts or something, i stick my smith j-frame into a pocket holster. i can sit all day without any issues. my most expensive concealable holster probably cost me $20.

Which IWB's are you using?

Never had an "Answer" on but w/ the multiple adjustments you might try to raise the gun up some & a little more cant. That 8:30 position is almost where I would be if I were a lefty. I carry right at closer to 3:00 than 3:30. I would think IWB untucked, that should be a comfortable rig.

You will need to move your front one up one notch & the back one up 2. That will raise it in the back the same as in the front & raise it one more in the back to add more cant. The added cant will pull the muzzel around a little more. The reason I never could wear a C-TAC was it rode too deep in my pants. I like the looks of "Answer" much better than C-TAC. Saying that my IWB carry is a CompTac Gurkha. CompTac makes good stuff too. Try both.

Greetings--

I carry a Glock 26 in a CTAC holster most of the day- AM to PM. A good bit of that time is occasionally sitting in the car...OK OK..and in the recliner at home...In fact, I usually have the holster on even when the pistol is off.

It took me a while to fool with the holster's adjustments and its position. I've finally found the sweet spot. It carrys well, concels well, and doesnt poke me when sitting.

Try the various adjustments and positions on your belt for at least a couple of days at a time before changing anything to get the feel. One mistake I hear folks make is over adjusting-- always changing it without time to see how it really fits.

How long have you had your "Answer"?

Mine took a few days to break in. In fact, after a day or two I was thinking I had made a very expensive mistake. After wearing it a few days and working through several adjustments it became quite comfortable. I wear it on average 12 hours a day, and sitting is not a problem what so ever. Traveling in the car for 10 hours is a breeze.

When I first started wearing it it was most comfortable at about 5:00. After losing about 12 lbs. I now find it very comfortable at 3:30.

It's a great holster and I highly recommend it.

Any holster that holds the pistol relatively high will be comfortable. The problem I've had at movies is with my cheap holster - it positions the pistol right where my body starts to slouch in the chair. My C-TAC and UCH do fine at 8-8:30 (lefty) for 2 hours, but OWB would probably be better for any greater length of time.

I was afraid I made a mistake w/ my C-Tac at first also. I did "break in" and I now wear it all day most days with long periods of sitting in car or chair w/o a problem. I have it set for max forward cant.
