Sig 232 SL?

I had an opportunity to purchase a used Sig 232 at a good price. Seen them for years but not read up on them. Other than some not liking a 380, any opinions on this gun?

It's a sig, nuff said. you cant go wrong with a sig. I have a P229 and i love it. I suggest you see if you can test fire the 239 to see if you like how it shoots. If you like it, go for it.

I have it's brother, the P-230sl. For S. Texas the stainless is great. Like the other reply, it being a Sig is really all you need to know.

Very reliable, the decocker adds to its safety, small enough for concealed carry.

Thanks, these appear to be a Walther PPK knock-off, similar to FEG PA63, etc. Those guns are a bit "snappy" on recoil.... same on the Sig 232 I wonder? CDNN has these like new, night sights, rubber Pachmyer grips for $439.

I think the "snappy" part is just a characteristic of a semi-auto of that size. My Bersa Thunder is "snappy" like you have described as well

My beef with the 232 is no slide release. You have to drop the mag and rack it to close the action.

It's a great gun besides that. I love sigs, and need one in the worst way. Engagement ring is kind of taking priority though.

Yup, same with PA63 and Walther PPK... These others cloned that design down to even their negative attributes! These are all blowback design rather than breech-lock. Anyone know an advantage/disadvantage of the design?

My dad's PPK jams all the time. Unsure what the deal is there, but I don't find it reliable....Probably 2 out of 3 mags will have at least one malfunction...

I would add to that the mag release design is not conducive to quick or easy reloads either, which makes it a no go for a CCW weapon for me. Plus you can get a 9mm these days the same size or smaller.

They are heavy compared to modern compact polymer pistols. But it does feel like a real gun when you hold it. I think they are dead sexy and I would buy the Sig over a PPK/S, the FEG-pa63, or a bersa. Nothing against any of the other three I have an FEG, I just think the Sig will be the best quality and reliability.

Got it today.... very nice. Night Sights, Rubber grips....very light trigger. Can't wait to wring it out. Don't like the bottom mag release or lack of slide release, but knew about those going in (and the same on my FEG). Amazed at how bright the sights are in the dark. Very sleek looking, but a tad heavy for concealed carry. All in all, I would say good bargain at $429 in a sig recertified red box.
