I agree with this. I only use steel-cased ammo in Soviet bloc guns--SKS, Makarov, etc. These guns were designed to be used with steel-cased ammo all the time.

I mostly use the brass-cased Monarch from Academy in my AR. It's about $10 per box of 20 right now. That's about twice the price of the steel-cased .223 Monarch IIRC, but still cheap enough for plinking ammo. I am saving brass so that I can start reloading for .223, but I don't have time to get into reloading right now.
