Do we name our guns? Well, not untill you started this thread. Of course the LCP is Ms. Elsipe, stolen from the forum (the name not the gun).
My wife says she remembers her uncle asking her aunt if she had "Walter" in her purse, (a Walther as it turns out, go figure).
My wife's carry is known as "formerly my Glock" but that's kind of long and pop-star like so we'll have to change that.
I just got a new Glock 30 and I'm having trouble thinking of a good Austrian name for it. Mabey "Arnold" or "The Terminator", or "Big Hans" - "Big Arnold" mabey? Or how about, "Doctor Glockenstien" (I think it's Jewish (like me), side note: the G30 has a little bit of the barrel "lopped off").
Well since I can't settle on a name, I'm open to suggestions. Texaschlforum members, Please help me name my new Glock 30!

G.A. Heath wrote:Me, my close friends, and my family know a series of names for my handguns so that we can talk about which ones I have on me without saying "Do you have your gun(s) with you?" For example someone may ask me if Roxane is coming with us, and I might say no, but Kim and Linda are. Basically their question was "are you carring your Rock Island Armory" and my response was "No, but I have my Pro Covert II and my LCR." But thats just a bunch of gun nuts talking in code so that we don't alarm people or reveal our armed status.
I like that! I'm going to steal it from you, if you don't mind. :tiphat:
And this is exactly why our guns are named...not to be cute or humanize them. It's just easier when we're going to the range to say, "I'm taking Fraulein," or "Can you please grab Bertha." We can't say, "Will you grab the HK?" because I have more than one. It's a matter of convenience.

The Glock30? How creative.
Hmmm, I think I see a patern here. I suppose I'll hand the topic over to my better half and send her over to the ladies side of the forum. Thanks anyway. Hey, how 'bout those Astro-rockets or whatever those guys that are always playing with balls are called?
(For the record I'm going with "Doctor G." - cures what ails ya.) :tiphat:
Guess I'll slap on some "Old Spice" and take "Dr. G to the range.
P.S. I'm on a horse.

Talk to my wife — who's celebrating the 11th anniversary of her 41st birthday this year (but I'll swear she's not a day over 32  )! We've been saving money on the heating bill with her hot flashes. :smilelol5:

No...that would seem weird to me. On the other hand, a female could get away with naming her gun. I have known females who gave their cars nick names. It is cute when a female does this. If I ever got in a car and a bud called his car by any nick name I would make fun of him until his death. Same for a gun.
