PM Question

Post by Oldgringo »

On occassion, I receive a PM and good breeding requires an acknowledgement - one way or another. Last night a forum friend sent a PM which I answered.

This morning my User Control Panel indicates my response is still in My Outbox and not in the Sent Message file. How come; IOW, what's up with that?

:tiphat: Thanks.

You probably hit the "save" button instead of the "submit" button. They're right next to each other.

It will remain in your outbox until it is read by the person you sent it to.

I was just going to come back and post that, after realizing that I had 3 messages in my outbox too.

A simple and satisfactory answer. Thank you both.

Now I'll go find something else to worry about.

Most forums that I've frequented, it doesn't matter if the recipient reads the message or not; it leaves your outbox when they log on the next time.

I say this only to ward off any potential upsets over "I know you read it, why haven't you responded? Clearly, your father was a hamster and your mother smelt of elderberries! Now respond, or I shall be forced to insult you again!" scenario. (pardon the Monty Python reference.)

IANAWG (web guru), so I don't know that this forum's PM system works in the same fashion. :tiphat:
