Live just west of Austin - got more weeds than I EVER had here. Including some stuff I haven't seen before.

Usually I like to put down some pre-emergent in mid-January (the recommeded mid-February date is too late!) but missed it this year due to weather & travel . . . and as a result, I've got the worst crop I've seen in over 10 years.

Time for some chemical warfare . . .

At 25-40mph, weeds don't look too bad as long as they're kept mowed. It's when you stop and start studying 'em that you see 'em for what they are.

What are these weeds that have a red stalk, look like little parsley-leaves and have a fine, shallow root-system? My yard is covered in these thing.

You and everybody else. The only saving grace is that you can follow the "stringers" back to the center, get up under it, and pull the whole thing out at once if you're careful about it.

Well, a lot of Tejas had a pretty wet winter and spring so far - thus more weeds. Me - I live in a rural area with native grass and weeds. Keep it cut, it does not look so bad. The best spot weed killing is vinegar (better with the 20% stuff) but you have to be careful because it will kill anything you get it on. Must be used on a real hot day and the weeds generally die before your eyes.

Since this thread started I have pulled weeds, used Weed and Feed, mowed twice, and trimmed the Hibiscus.
Finally !, the yard looks good. We've had a couple of good rains and warm weather.

Now for the back yard.
