Warrant Question
My Boss has Warrants in random counties all over Texas, but whenever she gets pulled over in Williamson and Travis county, nothing. She gets a ticket, and thats it.
Why arent they arresting her for her Warrants in other parts of Texas?

Re: Warrant Question
The warrants are probably local and are not listed in TCIC or NCIC so the officers who pull her over never know about them.
How do you explain a dog named Sauer without first telling the story of a Puppy named Sig?

Re: Warrant Question
With tight budgets, a failure to appear for a traffic ticket (as an example) just may not be worth having to send one or two deputies across the state to pick up a wanted subject.marksiwel wrote:It just seems so...sloppy

Re: Warrant Question
TCIC/NCIC only shows Class B misdemeanor (or equivalent for outside TX) and above. When I run someone through my dispatch they also check municipal court for outstanding local warrants. Also - we share info with surrounding cities, and our Sheriff's office so we can help each other out with clearing class C warrants.
Edit: Find out when her DL expires...these warrants will more than likely be filed on her driver's record and DPS will not renew until she pays the surcharge and clears the tickets out.

Re: Warrant Question
A buddy of mine had a warrant from Louisiana and was picked up in South Texas for speeding. The deputy (Zapata County) arrested him and he spent a few days in jail. Eventually they let him go since the issuing authority did not want to transfer him. I understand that a judge in LA rescinded the order and cleared whatever outstanding charges there were.
