IMHO, the belt might be the most important part of comfortable carry.

Where your holster holds the gun on your body is going to be very individually subjective due to body size, shape and "cushion." But that good strong belt, like the 5.11 or in my case a Galco contured, holds the whole program together and keeps it there.

The BEST ADVICE I have received from theis fourm was buy a good belt. The change in belt for me put the Ruger LCP back in the BUG postion and keeps my Glock nice and snug and comfy where I will wear it all the time.

ADDY...to address your questions of cant and depth. This is my preference, yours may be different. I did not change the cant. I positioned the clips so the top of the kydex rides at the top of my belt. For me, this allows for the deepest concealment while allowing a full grip when drawing and easiest reholstering. I cannot tell you how many holes from the bottom this is. After finding the most comfortable position, I trimmed the excess leather from the bottom of the holster. The reason for trimming the bottom was two fold. One, I find it enhances the comfort and two, it is easier to access my wallet(which rides right at the bottom of my weapons barrel). I also did the combat cut myself(to assure it fits me).

To address the type of clip. I use the metal clip which comes with the holster. I did try the kydex J clip, just did not care for it. Pro for the metal clip, 1. very secure, 2. easier on and off. Con for metal clip, 1. when wearing tucked it gives away your CC for those in the know (you can wear a vest or jacket to cover the clips). I usually carry untucked with Levi's, Polo and Boots for a neat "Texas" look,so the clips are not an issue for me. Enjoy your new rig and have fun experimenting.

I carried my S&W Sigma in a Crossbreed Supertuck daily for several months.
I started out with it around 4:30.
With a 45-minute commute each way back and forth to work, over time, I moved the holster further and further forward until I finally settled in at about 3:30 or even 3:15. It's more comfortable in the seat of my pickup when it's beside me rather than behind me. Also, with it further back it seemed to stick straight out when I bent over. More to the side and it doesn't seem to print so bad.

When I had a CHL before, back when they first came out, I carried it pretty far back, like 4:00 to 4:30. I was somewhat slimmer back then. The, ahem, change in my build may have something to do with me being more comfortable with a different position now.

I don't think I've ever messed with the adjustment of the clips. It seemed to work great the way it came. (I may have adjusted it, I just don't remember doing it.)

You've got a good holster. Just find a place for it that works for you.

Another consideration is concealability. For someone with a relatively lean build, locating the holster around 4:30 - 5:00 places the grip in the hollow behind the hip significantly reduces the chances of unintentional printing when compared to a 3:00 - 3:30 carry.

Because I am thin (152 lbs), that fits my situation exactly. At 3:00, it hurts my hipbone. I like crossdraw at 10:00 but can't sit without it punching my leg. So, I use 5:00.
