Maybe someone could just attach a link with a warning. Also, did the person just stand there with their thumb blown off and pose for pictures?
Thumb blown off, ouch! Pics attached. P&S unsafe?

Jack Ruby preparing to point shoot Lee Harvey Oswald with a 38 Special revolver, 1963.
A blowup of the shooting:

In both photos, Ruby's middle finger and not the index finger appears to be through the trigger guard.

If the bullet doesn't get him, the muzzle blast will.

I read somewhere that Ruby's index finger was missing, and that's why he held the gun like he did. Of course, my Google-fu stinketh right now, and I'm turning up stuff that says it could have been either his left or right finger that was missing.casingpoint wrote:

Maybe it's was missing because he pulled the trigger on revolvers with his middle finger?UpTheIrons wrote:

If your grip of two hands is correct on a auto pistol, your strong hand thumb will be pointing (more or less) at the target.
