Introduced my 60 year old wife to shooting on Saturday, thanks to a great instructor--Kevin Gentry. He got her over her fears and had her shooting like crazy. It was fun for us all. She was not that comfortable with my pistols---a 92SBC and a S&W 469----both "old and outdated" some would say.
Went to a gun show on Sunday and found a guy with new Glock 26's for $440. Wife tried one and loved it. I walked away...Think I made a big mistake.

G26s are for sale in the gun forums and tx gun trader fairly often for around that price without night sights. You should be able to redeem yourself fairly easy!

Nice to hear. Good job my friend.

"I am a Free Man, regardless of what set of 'rules' surround me. When I find them tolerable, I tolerate them. When I find them obnoxious, I ignore them. I remain free, because I know and understand that I alone bear full responsibility for everything I do, or chose not to do."

I liked it too and had the cash in hand. Just had one of those "senior moments" I hear about, I guess. Will buy the next one that comes around....silverbear wrote:G26s are for sale in the gun forums and tx gun trader fairly often for around that price without night sights. Re: Think I messed up
You didn't mess up unless they had night sights at that price. Basic Glocks go for $398 for special people last time I checked, but for a normal sale $450 plus or minus sounds right.
"Ees gun! Ees not safe!"
Re: Think I messed up
GT Dist still has them at $398 for LEO-Firemen, first responders maybe military. I'm not sure about military. I was there a week ago and they had a bunch of used Glocks for $289. My "should have" moment occured when I was next to a young man who'd just completed DPS training and was going to be working out of Houston. Always comes in handy to know the law. I was going to strike up a conversation but got distracted trying to find out what happened to the salesman that started our transaction. He brought out the Glock 22, took ID, copied it and had us fill out the 4473 and we never saw him again. After 20 minutes we found out he's gone to lunch.boomerang wrote:You didn't mess up unless they had night sights at that price. Re: Think I messed up
I recently saw a used S&W 642 with CT grip for four hundred and something dollars go by. I thought a few days later, "you know, I really should go after that one." Went back and it was gone........

Re: Think I messed up
I was there Monday (I think it was) and they still had two used G26s in the display case for $359 + tax. But if you're driving from Kerrville, call them first to make sure they still have one. They had about 10-15 of them at their last "trade-in clearance day" last Thursday and only the two left that I saw the following Monday.puma guy wrote:GT Dist still has them at $398 for LEO-Firemen, first responders maybe military. Used G22s and G23s (usually Gen 2, but a few Gen 3s sneak in) for about $300 are almost an everyday item for them now.
