As of sometime in January 2011Iowa will be Shall Issue. They are also adopting Universal Recognition of other states permits. So, it looks as if this will be one more state the Texas CHL will be honored. This is great.

We have driven to Minnesota/North Dakota several times since getting our CHLs and it was always a pain to have to disarm through Nebraska and Iowa.

Now Texas will have reciprocity with both states, so travel through them will be simplified (although I'd guess the Interstate Highways are pretty safe, when it comes to firearms/road rage in those areas).
