for all you Bond Arms fans

Post by karder »

I go into my favorite gun store to get some targets and walk out with a cowboy defender from Bond Arms in .45 Colt. I love these derringers and I think they are some of the most entertaining guns to shoot. Not only are they fun, but they are great conversation starters with the other shooters at the range. I will take be taking it out tomorrow night with a bunch of 410 shells and spray some targets! Pictures should be forth coming.

I hate when that happens!
Of course now you'll have to get a Public Defender for a BUG - or is vice versa?
I saw an ad for a new .410 shell by Winchester, "packed with a blend of three plated discs and 12 plated BBs". Ouch!

karder and mctowalot:

This ammo is called Winchester PDX1, IIRC.

The 3 disks look like double size button batteries which
power wristwatches. These 3 disks are packed on top of
the 12 buckshot pieces.

These are .410's so you can use them in either a .410 shotgun
or a Taurus Judge/Taurus Defender. Lethal stuff for home defense,
but I don't think a Judge would be good for self defense outside
the home due to the "spray" factor which could harm innocents.

Yeah, I have seen the ads for those 410 shells. I want to get some to try out. This is mostly a "just for fun" gun. Now don't get me wrong, I will keep it loaded and accessible, and it would to some serious damage at self defense ranges, but it is pretty heavy, kicks like a mule, and requires a sturdy effort to pull back the hammer. All the things that make it crazy fun to shoot at the range! I agree with you SIA, between the spread of the 410 and the over penetration of the 45 colt, I will probably keep this around the house and off the street, although I will take it hiking and backpacking. I am definitely picking up a Judge at some point, but I just got a Five-seveN for carry so I will have to build up my funds again. The Five-seveN is dead accurate, super soft recoil and is the fastest accurate shooter I have ever handled. The Bond Arms is the opposite, and way more fun!
