What do you call the part where the grip screw screws in ??

Didn't know you had to do that. Thought it just unscrewed. I never saw one the the bushing end threads were too long.
Small 3 corner file should clean the threads up after grinding or filing. I would but that one is yours. 

Carry 24-7 or guess right.

When I was a teletype technician, I learned that there are official names for such parts, of course they are not suitable for the ten year old daughter rule. Some of them were called "Durnits" as in "Durnit, there goes another one."
