Home invader killed

Interesting home invasion. House trashed, but the homeowners survived. The invader is dead, and should go well with fava beans and a nice chianti.

So apparently in California, it's okay to shoot and kill an invader once you've forced him out of your house, but he won't leave the porch.

I did not realize there were still places in the US where people went to bed with just a screen door keeping humans and critters out. Maybe I read this wrong but it sounds like this is what happened.
Waking up to a deer stumbling through your house has got to be considered a life altering event! Can you imagine what it's like going to bed the next night after that.
