Walmart ammo limit lifted

Post by Dave01 »

FYI...

I stopped by my local Walmart to pick up a few boxes of ammo at lunch. The ammo counter employee proudly announced that just this morning they received a notice from corporate to remove the ammo limit signs. Their selection was pretty well stocked, but I'm sure this varies by location. I assume this notice went out to all stores.

Did you see any .380 ammo? :coolgleamA:

My Walmart keeps the little "ammo limit" sign in the space where the .380 should be
because all the other spaces are full of their respective ammo calibers.

Thanks for the info. Now I'm curious if they've removed the sign yet.

Mine has plenty of 380 stocked, as does the Academy. Even had 10mm, albeit pricey though.

Grrrrr. Let's figure out a way to further increase scalping and hoarding.

I was surprised to find .45ACP at the Cedar Hill Wal Mart yesterday. I got a box of WWB 100 count and they still had 4 or 5 boxes. No .380ACP however.

At our Wal-Mart here in the Pineys, the ammo on the shelf problem has sorta' gone away. The problem is finding the "Associate" with the key to the ammo cabinet.

I've found that if you wander behind the counter, someone always shows up in short order. It's sort of like the "May I help you" riff:

Well if this ammo ban is lifted in ALL Wally's, that's good news.

It seems that in my recent visits to many Wally's that there's so
much 9MM and .40, that they can't even sell it all. There's so much
9 and .40 that it stays there for days.

There's also been a small amount of other calibers, such as
.25, .32, .357 Magnum, .38 Special, and .44 Magnum.

Even with the ammo drought seeming to ease considerably on
the above calibers, there doesn't seem to be much showing up
for .380 and .45 shooters.

I don't think the Wally World in Katy (near Fry Rd) has a limit. I don't remember seeing a sign there.

If I recall, the reason I was told that the limit was originally put in place was to prevent "ammo scalpers" from buying up a bunch of ammo and then selling it at outrageous prices at local gun shows. These opportunistic price gougers were evidently successful, only because of the ammo shortage. Now, if Wally World has lifted their ban, then they have either somehow determined that the shortage is over, or they have conquered greed. My bet is on the former.

I often buy 9mm and .40 from Walmart on 45 near Edgebrook (just because it's better stocked than my nearest WM)... when faced with the "6 box limit", the girl told me to just walk out the door then come right back in and she'd sell me 6 more.:

I checked yestareday and the signs were still up at my Walmart. Inventory was much better than it has been but they still don't have any .380.

Was just at one of our local Wal-Marts. They had pretty well everything except .380, .45 and they had no 100rd boxes of Winchester 9mm. Price was higher than before also, $13.97 for 50 WWB 9mm. :totap:
