I ordered the tool to looks like a great design huh?Pete92FS wrote:Congrats on the new pistola - I've had one since last October and love it.
Thanks for the linkChuckW wrote:Very nice! I am sure that you will enjoy it.
I couldn't help noticing in your disassembly picture that you used the wire like takedown tool provided with the gun for disassembly. In case you weren't aware I thought that I would mention this guy's Ultra tool - http://www.1911ultratool.com/" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false;
His device perfectly alines the the slide stop with the disassembly notch making field stripping a breeze, something that the Kimber tool doesn't do. I have a Kimber Ultra CDP and can testify that the thing really works. FYI - I have no connection with the guy who makes these.- I watched the video and am definitly going to order one of these tools. That little hex key that came with the gun is a real pain.
I agree with the sights - I am going to have mine changed out also. Too hard for me to align in low light.ddstuder wrote:Congrats!!![]()
I have the same weapon. Got it in December last year, and has been 100% reliable. I have about 1000 rounds through it, and have had no failures at all! I am going to send my slide to Kimber for night sights soon. The laser is cool, but I do not like the black sights on them. I cant see them in low light conditions.

Do you have a link to the thread? Probably to late as i just ordered a Super Tuck for it and i also ordered a Snap slide from Crossbreed for my Glock 33 (.357 sig) i might carry it sometimes too.Purplehood wrote:Oh, oh...there is a thread on that very subject that you might want to peruse. Would you get a left handed (i'm right handed) but seems easier to get at from mid back.

This is why I hate forums. There is always someone flashing a nice shiny new toy that I want! If its not a Kimber, its a new BlackBerry or a Nice vintage Mercedes-Benz. I want too many things. By the way that has to be the finest looking pistola around! Congrats

No, I am too lazy to search. But the general consensus that I got from it is that it is a Bozo-No-No.texjames wrote:Do you have a link to the thread? Do you mean No No on the small of the back...if so i did ask Crossbreed about that and he said none of there holsters are designed for Mid of back carry.Purplehood wrote:No, I am too lazy to search. I actually played around with it and i think with the right tilt i can Appendage carry about 2 oclock.I carry my cell pone holster on my belt there also so the buldge from that will help camoflauge the gun. Will see.

Sorry for being imprecise. Yes, I meant carry in the middle of the back. There was a HUGE discussion on the issue as I recall it. I tend to agree that it is perhaps not the best method.

Very nice gun.
That's a nice gun and it is on my list; maybe next year when I get a tax refund or when I win the lottery. Looks like it would fit my little hand well and I don't have a 45 yet. Trying to talk my hubs into me spending that much on another hand gun will be the problem. This is a reverse scenario I think.

From what I've heard, a fall while carrying middle of the back can result in spinal injury. That's enough of a reason for me.Purplehood wrote:Sorry for being imprecise. Re: Got A New Gun
You just HAD to post that picture didn't you. I have the full size version of this gun and love it. I think it needs a little brother.

These look like great holsters but the wait time is pretty darn long. From their web site:gigag04 wrote:I carried mine in a Milt Sparks VMII. Some swear by kydex - I cant do it IWB.

I just pick my refund check from the mailbox this evening. I was going to buy a new TV (mine's on the fritz).
