We've had a bad, bad shooting over here

It wasn't in Beaumont. It was in Mid County/Nederland/Beauxart Gardens, a low crime, middle class area.Oldgringo wrote:With all due respect, and after all is said and done, what was so important about the diapers and the graduation gift that she had to go out, unescorted, on a Friday night in Beaumont? Couldn't these things have waited until the light of day?
And running an errand to WalMart at 8pm is SOP for thousands of people, women and kids included.
And, yes, diapers can be considered "important".
Having said that, when my wife (but not my 20 yr old daughter) needs an errand run at night, I take her...and we're always armed.

this is absolutely mindblowing. My thoughts and prayers go out to the family and friends of this mother, daughter, wife, friend and protector.
I hope these things (the attacker) is caught and tortured.

FWIW, the only time that I've ever had a car broken into and our stuff stolen was at night in Nederland, TX, USA.

Unfortunately it may not have made a difference in this particular case.Oldgringo wrote:My point exactly.doc540 wrote:

It sounds like it was a random act of violence.

Im trying to figure out if...
1) someone shot from up close (intentional and possible gang initiation)
2) stray bullet that happened to land in her chest from a nearby shooting

The area where she was shot is an isolated, two lane highway through ag/oil fields and petro-chem businesses.XtremeDuty.45 wrote:USA1 wrote:Unfortunately it may not have made a difference in this particular case.Oldgringo wrote:My point exactly.doc540 wrote:

One in a million chance that she was struck from a random, stray shot coming out of one of the fields.
Talked to my LE contacts this morning, and no word yet on the investigation.
They will solve this murder. It's just a matter of time.
