Why is a PT111 a 9mm?

Shouldn't it be a PT109? :headscratch
Already taken.
The only PT109 I know that's been taken is JFK's "ex-PT boat".

And, following the "place an imaginary zero" rule, wouldn't that make a PT745 a seventy round capacity gun?
In my world, I only have to use the imaginary zero rule when it fits (PT145),
not when its use is unnecessary (PT745). :-)
