Re: Para Carry 9mm vs Springfield EMP
I have both of them.
My opinion... EMP wins hands down..
The huge difference between the 2.. EMP is SA, Carry 9 is "Light Double Action (LDA)". The LDA system is nice but I prefer the single action of the EMP.
Both are about the same size, but the EMP has a smaller grip circumference than the Carry 9. Officer sized grip panels or 9mm mags will not fit the EMP.
The 'Para-Paint' coating on the Carry 9 flakes off if I look at it wrong. I sent it back to Para shortly after I got it to fix some feeding issues, and they said that the wear was normal.
Both shoot well, I guess the deciding factor is what type of trigger system you prefer.

The EMP gets my vote, shot several of them & love them more everytime.

EMP but they aren't the easiest to find in 9mm.

Re: Para Carry 9mm vs Springfield EMP
Well see, I'm just the opposite. While I own an EMP, and the vast majority of my half-vast collection are SAO in the 1911 pattern, I think a self-defense pistol needs to be double-action. So, I'm looking at 3" LDAs.
I sure wish Sig would make the P238 in a DA/SA.
The smallest pistol I have like that is my Astra A75L

Re: Para Carry 9mm vs Springfield EMP
I bought the Para to be my Daughter's "carry weapon", my only disappointment with it...is the black finish.
Its really sad....and Para-Ordnance should be ashamed of it...instead of defending it (the finish).

I like my Carry 9.
It has the feel of a 1911 and the great LDA trigger and .... I like Black Guns.
Because it's 9mm. it's lighter than my Kimber UC II and it's slightly smaller foot print. great for those times I need dependable, but very concealed. I don't carry it often but, that's just because I can comfortably conceal something bigger... most of the time.
