Deciding Whether or Not to Continue Carrying My D Frame

Post by doc540 »

It's been quite a journey.

Circumstances dictate that I have to carry in deep cover, and the Smartcarry has fit the bill perfectly for several years now.

My custom Cobra has been the perfect carry piece due to its size, shape, weight, and self defense capabilities.

Just yesterday I put 100rnds of wadcutters through it at the range, and I can shoot accurately.

But Ruger has now come up with a slim, 11 shot, 9mm semi with a manual safety. A revolver satisfied my safety requirements when carried in the Smartcarry rig, but a slender 9mm semi with a manual safety could be a game changer.

I'm just rambling out loud trying to make a decision here.

I miss my early model Cobra. It was the long gripped version and I was too cheap to pay the $$$ for custom grips and got fed up and sold it.

Don't listen to him. I think you should carry the Ruger and let me purchase the Colt. He's motivated by selfish desire, whereas I just want what's right.
"rlol"

Sorry Carlson. The devil made me do it!

Never a problem with another gun!

I am just curious to know what draws you to the Ruger that other guns of a similar size don't offer? Is it just the thumb safety?

Yes, its slender profile and thumb safety just might work in a Smartcarry system.

We'll soon find out since I bought one today at lunch.

100rnds thru the SR9C this afternoon at the range.

Performed flawlessly with both mag's and hardball and HP ammo.

However, I've assigned it to car duty and will continue to carry the Cobra.

Taurus MilPro got bumped from car duty and sold.

Quick pic with the 17rnd mag
