another SA 1911 question.......

Post by NTexas_V-Star »

I was reading on springfield's website, that the 1911 I posted about the other day, has a coating on the slide called Black Armory Kote.

The question: Will this help prevent any surface rusting as a carry weapon. I work outside, and sweat. My sweat is apparently stronger than most, lol.

Yes it will. Armory Kote is a baked on teflon impregnated polymer coating similar to Black-T

Really? I sure appreciate it man!! I may have to get one of these pistols then. The only thing that has been holding me back has been not wanting to sweat acid onto a gun that beautiful.

Didn't doubt what you posted, but wanted double confirmation. I called Springfield and talked to a great lady by the name of Kate. She confirmed. I think I'm about to have to see about selling this Kimber.

You'll love the Operator. Both the wife and I have one for carrying on the ranch, because of the weight and the coating. They are scary accurate and eat anything you feed it, including snake shot.
