I want 'em both. Should I just save my quarters and buy the Ruger later? Decisions decisions............
What are the reasons for your wife's largesse? There are no free lunches...somebody said that and I believe it.

Let me be the ONE possible dissenter. It is important to buy the gun that you will carry 100% of the time!!!! I own a 1911, Glock 26 and Ruger LCP as primary carry weapons. In the summer, I don't carry the 5" 1911. Shorts, t-shirts, workout pants and kids don't usually make it easy to conceal that large of a gun. I carry the Glock most of the time, but there are still circumstances that come up a few times a week where I can't carry that large of a gun. Primarily due to work reasons or when going to the gym. The Ruger on the other hand is with me 100% of the time. Goes in my pocket when I wake up, does not come out until I go to sleep. It is always with me, along with an extra magazine. It is small, light weight and easy to conceal. I carry it on my bicycle and at the gym.

Remember, Murphy's law. There is going to be that one day when the Kimber was too big to carry or when your wearing shorts that don't have a belt and you can't carry it. Are you willing to bet your life that it won't be the same day someone attacks you? I was not.

If you can at all muster it, buy both. The LCP is a great BUG, but it will be the gun you carry everywhere!

I don't know who originally said it, but to paraphrase "Carry always or guess right!"
