AndyC (again) offers great advice in his earlier post. Aim small miss small is not just a good movie quite.

Get some 3x5 and 4x6 notecards if you want to save money on stickers. put those on the BACK of a white target - I usually color them solid iwth a marker or paint or use the stick on targets. Focus on sight picture, trigger press, trigger reset, sight picture. Then repeat. Shoot at 1" dots or small notecards from the 3yd line. When your groups are smaller than the palm only of your hand, try moving back. It's possible however to achieve groups the size of a quarter at this distance. You also may want to check out the 3 dot targets I posted in a separate thread.

It's hard to say how good you're doing or not because we have no idea what your point of aim is on the silhouette targets. These targets are fine for some timed courses of fire, but if I am doing accuracy work I use notecards and small paper plates. I also have some old bowling pins that are fun for pistol drills.

I would also advise taking a course or meeting up with some of the surgical shooters on this board for a one on one lesson. A good teacher can watch you hold the weapon and fire three rounds and give you something to work on.
