Zip code changing for address

Post by maximus2161 »

I live in a weird spot I guess. My zip code is 76248 (Keller) but just found out it changed to 72644 sometime recently. I just literally mailed off my CHL renewal as mine expired back in April but wasnt able to schedule a renewal till just now. My street address has not changed or anything. And mail with the 76248 zip code still gets to me fine. For my renewal I applied online and only have to submit a CHL 100 form which I just mailed off.

My question is now what do I do since I just sent of my CHL 100 to DPS? My DL still shows my zip code 76248 so I guess I'd have to update that. Then what about my CHL? Im worried it will get delayed over this zip code thing. And since Im currently without a CHL till I get my renewal I dont want to risk having any delays as the wait is already 45-60 days average I was told.

Thanks!

I think you might have meant 76248 to 76244. Both are Keller. The 72644 is somewhere in Arkansas. Anyway ...

How much longer before your DL expires? I'm just thinking that as long as your mail gets through okay and your two licenses will match that you could wait until you need to change your DL and then do them both at the same time. That might not be the best way or the most legal (IANAL), but it is the easiest. I would be tempted to and might do it this way if I were ever put in this position.

Send them an email explaining the zip code change. If you catch them in time they should update it before printing the license.

Hah you must live in the woodland springs area. I had the same problem when I did my app still have not updated it. I had just had my DL changed to Keller 76248 from Ft Worth 76248 when they changed it to Ft worth 76244. My mail still gets here under 76248.

yes my bad...king of typos here...it was Keller 76248 and just changed to Fort Worth 76244. Im getting mail with both zip codes. Its not like I am trying to hide or lie about my address info. i just dont want DPS thinking that. I dont even know if it will come up. Just concerns me is all.

Just call them up and explain. they can probably change it before they get you renewal printed.

There have been a whole bunch of people caught up in that Keller/Ft Worth/Trophy Club zip code change thing. You certainly aren't the first.

I thought it was bad when the address of my house in NH changed three times (four different addresses). The house was on a corner when I finally installed a rural mailbox at the end of my side-entry driveway, the street even changed. It was a lot of fun to keep all that straight. I'm glad my zip code didn't change.
