I'm new to this forum and to the State of Texas. I moved here a couple weeks ago from Ohio. I am not new to the world of CC'ing, but I have no knowledge of The Texas Penal Code.
I briefly looked but was unable to find a thread devoted to Firearms and CC related laws for the state. I apologize if in my ignorance I have overlooked it. Is there any way that someone could post the majority of the TxPC's or the sections that apply to firearms or link me to a thread with the the related laws so that I may read over them and get an idea of what things I need to learn. I will also need any information regarding other items I usually carry(ex. knives, OC spray, batons etc.).
Regards,

Re: TxPC help
Welcome to Texas and to TexasCHLforum. Tex. Penal Code Chp. 46 contains most of Texas gun laws. Here is a link to that part of the code. Baldeagle has given you a link to statutes directly related to Texas Concealed Handgun Licenses. BTW, you don't have to wait 6 months to apply for a CHL as a new Texas resident.
Again, welcome,
Chas.

Also, if you need sections from TABC or Education Code or Government Code, or other Penal Code sections, etc., you can access them from here, though the DPS site has most of the info.
