Ruger redhawk sight mount trouble

Post by LJM »

I recently purchased a Ruger Redhawk .44 Mag , B-square sight mount, and NCstar Tactical sights. The problem I have is after the first time shooting the pistol the mount was loose. ?? Tightened the 5mm screws. Next time to the range 12 shots loose again. This time the screws were stipped. Is there a better sight rail out there or have I made up a bad combination? :banghead:

Did you try locktite?

I agree, Locktite. But be sure to use the blue locktite not the red, unless you never want to take it off again.

No but i will when I put it together next time. The rail is currently stripped so i am now looking for another rail before I can put it back together. I was thinking of drilling and tapping to next larger size screw but i do not think there is enough meat there.
