Pistol Safe

Post by G26ster »

I'm looking for a pistol safe that will hold 4 to 6 pistols. I'm not a rifle or shotgun guy, so I just need something to secure my pistols. I'm looking at this one, but would love input on better units/deals from our members here. Thanks

UPDATE: Pretty bad reviews for this one online, so I need better recommendations more than ever!

My Wife and I picked up this one (or one very similar) at Wal-Mart http://www.sentrysafe.com/products/prod ... p=CartView" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false;
Works good. We were wanting one only for "a couple guns" then got to thinking all the other stuff we should lock up.
This is good sized for 5-6 guns, spare mags, ammo, and other important stuff, like birth certs, checkbooks, etc.

Teamless knows I am a Costco nut but here's a really nice safe that will accommodate a good number of handguns. It's similar to the larger safes you see but half-size and looks to be a really good deal to me for $299.

For quick access I use a Honeywell safe that I have modified to hold 4 pistols (added one since this picture was taken). I picked up the safe at Big Lots for 40 bucks I think, and spend about 4 or 5 bucks on the foam if I recall correctly.

Everything else stays in a big 36 gun safe. The little one is for carry pistols which is accessed every day.

Just remember shot placement is much more important with what you shoot than how big a bang you get with each trigger pull.

That really looks nice for $40!

Thanks all. I was going to Cabela's today and found this online.

They didn't have it in stock in the store, but in stock in the system, so I ordered one. No shipping charges. I can pick it up in 5 days. My wife said, "But then you have to come back to here." With a straight face and semi-frown, I said, "Yeah." :lol: BTW, they are overloaded with pistol ammo at very good prices!

I have a Sentry safe as well http://www.sentrysafe.com/products/prod ... p=CartView" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false;

Holds my Glock and HK and extra room for some ammo.

I also recommend a Dehumidifier. I have the Remington version http://www.cabelas.com/p-0034792227686a.shtml" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false;

What are the dimensions (approx.) of the dehumidifier? Thanks.
