high standard vs ria

Post by speepdaedeesi »

anyone have a comparison of the two? high standard is a little more, but apparently they are based out of good ol houston texas, and i would be willing to spend a little more to support a local business.

im looking at the compact tactical rock island, and the cruisader compact from high standard

i found multiple comparisons of them, but they are all from 2008 or so, and im sure there are other changes to both since then.

both seem similar, novack sights, etc... am i missing anything? fit and finish?

anyone have any experience?

One of my .45's is a RIA 5" Tactical. I've never had any problems with it. One of my
sons has a RIA Tactical but I believe it is 3 1/2" instead of 4". Anyway, his has never had any
problems either. Can't help with commenting on the HS because I don't own one.
Good luck.

Hello. Here is a link to some information about the High Standard Crusader ---> Click Here

I also researched theses two guns (RIA and High Standard) a couple of months ago and the
information I received leads me to believe that they are essentially the same gun with different markings.

Aren't they both products of the same factory in the Philippines? Armscor, I think...

After doing more research it appears that TAM is correct.
However, it seems that some High Standards are also made right here in Houston Texas.

I don't know much about their 1911s, but I am very happy to see High Standard continuing with their line of .22LR pistols. I know most of the forum members probably wouldn't want to spend that much on a .22LR pistol, but IMO they are some of the best on the market. They are extremely accurate, have an excellent trigger, and are not finicky about what kind of ammo you feed them.
