Democrat vs Libertarian debate Tuesday in Stephenville

Post by KD5NRH »

I couldn't find an appropriate place to put this under legislative topics, except maybe a goal, so Mods, feel free to move it if there's a better place.

I know there are a few people on this forum with the good sense to not live in Houston, and IIRC, at least one or two might be close enough to show up for this.

Debate set for Tarleton

Sunday, October 15, 2006 11:09 PM CDT

Candidates vying for Congress will debate at 7 p.m., Tuesday on the Tarleton State University campus. The event will feature democratic candidate Mary Beth Harrell and libertarian candidate Matt McAdoo, and will take place in the special events room of the Math Building.

Incumbent John Carter has not agreed to participate.

The event is sponsored by the JTAC, KTRL and the Tarleton Media Association. Everyone is invited to attend.
I can't imagine two parties more diametrically opposed to each other on RKBA than Democrats and Libertarians, so I'll be there, hoping the topic comes up. I wish Carter hadn't turned it down, though, since it's on campus, and I'm somewhat concerned about the Democrats dominating the audience too much.

Tarleton State is rightfully proud of their championship rifle team. I wouldn't expect this campus to be filled with pushover anti-gun types.
