Mistaken Identity

Most CHL/LEO contacts are positive, how about yours? Bloopers are fun, but no names please, if it will cause a LEO problems!

Mistaken Identity

Post by gregthehand »

Well it's my first post so I guess I'll create a little laugh. I'm no longer in LE but thinking about getting back into it maybe just as a reserve. Anyway...

One night me and my partner were just bored and doing a little bar parking lot patrol. Well this early 30's intoxicated women flags us down. She says that her bf is inside and that he is way drunk (I say under my breath "Wow even drunker than you?") Anyway she tells us what he drives and that we need to wait for him to leave the bar so we can nail him for DWI because he is a jerk of a boyfriend. We say that she should work on getting herself a ride home. She gets all excited for a moment and says that she knows better than to drink and drive. We had gotten out of the car at this point and she was looking right at both of us in a well lit parking lot. She says she knows better and blah blah blah. She then starts saying she knows soooo many deputies who worked for our Constable's office. She starts going through names that we have never heard of (did I mention we had less than 30 deputies?) and then she says it.... We'll just say my partner's name is John Doe, everyone calls him Big John Doe b/c he's so dang big. Anyway she looks right square at him and says "Do ya'll know Big John Doe?" I kind of think did she just say what I think she said? Well John does not miss a beat and asks her to describe Big John to her; she describes another deputy in our department. The whole time she is talking he is just nodding and "Oh really" "Yeah that sounds like John" and really making an effort to let her see his name tag. She never noticed we never told and laughed for about 10 mins afterwords. We called up the deputy described and asked him if he knew her. He said "Yeah.... why?" We tell him what happened and he just listens. Not really sure how she got that one mixed up, they didn't look alike. Use your imagination as to why he may have told her some other guys name after maybe say meeting her in a bar..... :???: :???:
