So far, since starting this thread I have been to the range twice with the original Kimber mag and the Wilson 47D.
Both have functioned equally so far. I keep the Wilson mag in the gun for carry because of the one extra round capacity.

I'm considering ordering the Wilson 47DC because of the low profile base plate.
It still holds 8 rounds.

Here's a comparison...

Not a lot of difference, but enough to make me choose the low profile.

Before I sold my Ultra Carry, I used Wilson and Kim Pro mags both with good success.

On my Dan Wesson CBOB I bought a Tripp Research mag, and it would not run right from day one. I sent it back and they worked on it but I have no idea if it work or not. I haven't tried it again. One other thing that annoyed me about the Tripp mags is that it hangs almost 1/2" below the butt of the gun and cannot be modified with a standard low profile base plate. It is a proprietary tube and base plate. :waiting:

I'm not real happy with it and it was a very expensive mag. I can't recommend them based on my personal experience.

Wilson Combet Mags in 8 shot. I have 3 and all have been perfect. They are def better made then the stock Kimber mag and you pick up a shot without the mag hanging out. I have a CDP Pro Kimber. Push down on the spring for both mags and you will feel the diff.

The Kimber rocks front to back the Wilson stays straight and goes straight down.
