Post Range Report Very Suprised Glock 20

Well took my Glock 20 to the range. This is my very first one ive owned. Its really hard for me to say this but I shot really well with it.

I was able to cover 10 ring easily at 25 feet. My biggest surprise was the recoil or lack there of it. The muzzle flip was there but what I felt was very very minor. Def no worse then my 45 Kimber with standard 230 target rounds. Using 180 grain Remmington target rounds.

The Double Tap 165 gr Golden Saber Bullets at 1425 FPS and 744 ft lbs were hotter but again very manageble and def a great self def load.

I would def recommend this gun. This is coming from a guy who used to be not Glock crazy. With 16 rounds of 10 mm,low weight and night sites it would be crazy to not carry this gun as my CCW. Still love my Smith,Kimber,Sig and Ruger but there is def a new adopted child in the gun family.

With being a 10mm it went in the top 2 of my favorite carry guns. Sorry no pics of target because im unable to get it to load. Hey come by and see it. Well have a beer.

Love my Glock 20. It's a bit large for me to CC for long periods but doable. You should look into the G29.

I love my Glock 20SF. It truly is a versatile handgun. Most people who say the recoil is unbearable have never shot it. I heard the same things for a long time. Sure it has more recoil then a .357 sig and 45 but people make it sound like they were shooting a 50 AE or .44 mag. Heck a .357 mag with hot loads kicks far greater then my 10mm. I just don't understand why the round never caught on. I guess the main reason is that it was never really integrated into law enforcement. Lets see: Similar ballistics to a .357 mag, holds 16 rounds, can legally hunt with it and has manageable recoil. If your not recoil shy I think it tops the .45acp. Some say it doesn't stop as good as a .45 or even a .40 (which makes no sense). After seeing a .45acp take down a deer and then a year later a deer with a 10mm there is no doubt in my mind that a 10mm has more power on target then a .45 acp. That being said I think one to the chest of any person would be a life ending event unless shot in the emergency room and you had really good luck.

I'm thinking of getting a 9 x 25 Dillon barrel for mine. Just think of a .357 SIG on steroids.

I love my 45s and use the 185 plus P rounds in them but im also aware that they are not as hot as the 10mm. The old debate is for another post but the ballistics seem pretty strong. I agree ive owned a 10mm S&W 1066 for about 15 years and was also shocked that the 10mm round died out. Seems like a great all around round to me.

Im not a big fan of the over penetration theory. Yes you have to know whats behind the bad guy but we should allways know that no matter what were shooting. I have a friend who shoots hogs with .556 in a blk rifle. Small hole in and only a little larger out. So over penetrates but when he opens the hogs up there organs are mush.

Thats due to the energy expelled in the body and the speed of the round. Thats using a small 55 grn bullet. I think speed and energy are just as important as the size of the bullet. I wouuld never give up my 45s though as its also a great round with tons of options. The two rounds are different though IMO.

What I would really love is a 10mm in a 1911 but darn they sure are exspensive!
