Anyone know why Texas hasn't established Reciprocity with Ohio?

My guess is a lack of response from Ohio. I also suspect that our current statutory requirement that Texas unilaterally recognize other states' CHL's if certain requirements are met makes Texas a lower priority.

I am also a guy that needs Ohio reciprocity without going through the trouble and expense of a Florida or Utah license.

From what I’ve been told, the reason Ohio doesn’t have a Reciprocity agreement with Texas is that Texas allowes people under 21(mainly members of the arm forces) to have a CHL.

For what it’s worth, I would love to carry in Ohio. I make an almost yearly trip Dayton and it would be nice if I had the ability to carry.

I have thought about getting another CHL that Ohio does recognize, but haven’t done it. One of the things that bothers me about Ohio’s Law is that it forbids you from carrying anywhere alcohol is served.

The really crazy thing about Ohio is that you must open carry while in a vehicle, or the gun must be locked in a secure container.

That really doesn’t surprise me. Thats why its great to live in Texas. Here, the only time run into Alcohol issue is when I take NyQuil and that’s usually when I’m at home laying in bed feeling like I going to die!

I just don’t the idea have to disarm if you want to enjoy an evening dinner with your family or friends at any restaurant that has a liquor license.

Be sure to be careful in New Mexico, they don't allow a weapon anywhere that alochol is SOLD, and that means 7-11's and grocery stores not just restraunts.
