Of the 1500 perfect rounds that I've put through my LCP at least 1000 of the empty casing popped me in the head. I wouldn't bother customer service for that, but for the gun failures I would definitely send it back for repair.

Is it happening if someone else shoots it?

Well that certainly explains a few things. :biggrinjester:

I am the one doing the shooting. This taurus is only gun I have that throws those empty hulls back at me like that. Next time I go shoot it I will wear my hazmat gear. :smilelol5: But was also wondering why the gun gets so dirty just after a few rounds. Maybe cause itis PINK and it shows up better than on raspberry or black? The FTF's, FTE's and down right don't go bang stuff are my main concerns. Thank you all for the feedback. I will call Taurus Cust.svc tomorrow. :tiphat:

Great video, I will stop saying "casings" and stop blaming other people around me.

As for the misfires, I suspect a problem with one or more of the following: Firing pin; firing pin channel; or main spring. The next time a round fails to go off on the first attempt, wait several seconds with the muzzle pointed at the berm to make sure you didn't have the very rare but possible "hang fire." Then eject the round and look for "light primer strikes." If you don't have a lot of shooting experience, you may not know what this looks like. Compare that round with ones that functioned property and look for shallower indentations on the primers of the misfired rounds. My guess is you will see light primer strikes which is an indication of a gun problem involving one or more of the components I listed.

As for rounds hitting you in the forehead, this can be cause by the extractor, ejector, your grip, or even limp-wristing. The direction of travel for ejecting brass can be changed easily when a pistol has an internal extractor like 1911's. You just change the tension and that is very easily done. However, your pistol has an external, spring-loaded extractor, so you won't be tuning it without playing with the extractor spring. I don't suggest that unless you know what you are doing and have at least two or three extra springs. Stoning of the ejector can make a difference, but it has to be done with care so that it doesn't change the angle of travel too much before the round clears the gun. Otherwise, you can be building in a jam.

As others have said, I'd send it back to Taurus with a cover letter explaining your problems and telling them you are experiencing light primer strikes, if that is the case.

I have a TCP 738 as well and had issues right out of the box. Called customer service and had no hassles - they had FedEx pick it up to go to Miami to get fixed. It does take anywhere from 3-5 weeks, but you can track the status of your repair by serial number as well from their website.

I was mad that it was messed up out of the box, but Taurus fixed it and it works fine now.

Call Taurus.

I called Taurus today as I was advised. All my problems, including the hulls coming back at me and the getting really dirty ARE real problems. No hassles, fedx coming Monday to pick up my little broken pink baby. I asked if they needed the magazine and they said no. (Had heard sometimes they forget to return the mag) Maybe I will get an extra mag out of this deal, would be nice as I wanted to get a couple more and they weren't in stock so guess they have some for repair/testing purposes on hand. Thanks to all for your responses. I am not an expert on guns as far as tinkering with them. I buy em, shoot em, clean em. That's it. :fire

I think you should.

It would cost them next to nothing and you would be a "Happy customer who had a positive experience"
verses a customer who "Had to deal with sending a gun back to make it right".

Makes better business sense. ;-)

I didn't get jack out of my repair other than an operational gun.

Careful USA1, we are dealing with a business. Common sense would say, send a new mag with the repair. But, we all know most have no common sense.

Sorry, I forgot.

I own and operate my own business and always go out of my way to deliver top notch service that is beyond the customers expectations. In doing so, I've retained the same customer base for over 20 years as well as picking up new ones along the way.

To me, service is everything. ;-)
