I had and returned a Pager Pal, it was uncomfortable and trying to sit down with it on was a chore.

A friend offered to buy one at a gun show if the vendor would let him wear it for an hour at the show and refund his money if he didn't like it. Vendor declined.

I do have something very similar bought about 14 years ago. It holds a lockblade knife, has magnetic hardware to fasten around the belt, and the leather is soft, even luxurious, making it very comfortable. I never saw the vendor again, but it came with a choice of different pouches.

Still, it isn't practical except for a backup.

He got to you too, huh?
Yep, that guy could sell sand in the desert.

The rep for Houston in the early days sold many of them because he hired scantily clad attractive women, think Daisy Mae outfits, to wait on the male customers and demonstrate the holster.

I actually have a pager pal (now called cell pal) and thought it was the bees knees... until I discovered the smartcarry. Now, I hardly ever use it anymore. The only time that I still use the pager pal is if I need to unholster and reholster due to my visiting a 30.06 location. You have to take off your pants to safely reholster with the smartcarry. You don't have to do so with the pager pal.

I don't think I was "snookered". It's not a bad holster, but it's much less useful than the smartcarry. Please keep in mind that the cell phone carrier wears out very quickly and YOUR GUN WILL FALL DOWN if you use the wimpy cell phone carrier. My gun fell down once in public at a Japanese fair. I actually didn't even know that I dropped it. A kind Japanese gentleman thought it was an "airsoft" toy and told me in Japanese accented English. I bowed, "Origato," and tried my best to act calm. Then, I quickly scooped it up and put it in my backpack! The plastic pager is much sturdier and I've never had any problems with it, but it is not very comfortable, especially if you like to slouch or are overweight. If you're skinny and sit up straight, you should have no problems with the pager pal. However, very few people use pagers anymore, so I don't use it very much anymore. If you can pick one up cheap with the original pager, then go for it. Otherwise, I suggest that you pass on the Cell Pal.
