My New XDm 45acp

Post by texjames »

I been thinking of getting a new 45 for target shoot'n and general GP use.I guess ya could carry it but it s pretty big.I was really
almost set on a Kimber Custom Target II...but out at the Air Base BX where they have guns now i saw this new Springfield Armory
XDm 45 and wow. At the base you don't have to pay sales tax either. The gun was $612.00 So i took it home cleaned it and headed
to the range. It shoots great, handles great, shoots really tight groups to even with my old eyes.Put 250 rds of 230gr FMJ through it
without no ptoblems. 13 rd mag. Really happy with it. These XD pistols come in a really nice case with a clip on holster, dual mag carrier.
mag loader and two magazines, three differnat back straps...i used the slim one and cable lock. :fire

Nice, I hope it has a trigger more like my XDm-40 and the rental XDm-45 I shot instead of a trigger like my XDm-45 had (problem resolved).
How do you explain a dog named Sauer without first telling the story of a Puppy named Sig?

Congrats, :iagree: those XDm's are nice. Shot one at the range a couple of weekends ago. What can I say, it works good.

I have a XD45 5 inch compact that I carry and was going to get a 4 inch so I could have two sizes to carry and practice. I am now considering an "m". Congrats on your new gun.

Congrats. I've never had a bad shooting experience with an XD.

Its sort of funny as i been seeing them in some of the magizines that they were coming and i think in the back of my mind i liked it.But I had been thinking
about another 1911...I had been all over Gun Broker...Buds, and was almost set on a Kimber Custom Target II ($813 locally) and out at the base they had this
Springfield XDm....its like a switch clicked in my head. So that night i read some reviews online.I was wanted a fun shoot'n, bullseye range gun.It holds plenty
of ammo..like duh! Yes thats it.Went down next day and bought it.I just got through ordering some reloading stuff for 45 acp and going to start that again too.
I used to reload 45 back in the mid to late 80's.Its a heck of a gun..glad i went that direction now for sure. Also glad the home front can't tell one handgun from another. :evil2:

Great gun. I have the XD in 45 and love it. The XDs and Glocks allways go bang no matter of the ammo used or condition of the gun. I have to respect that. Im a 1911 lover and own one and looking to buy another. I will say this though. If I was in a war with running around in the woods, mud and water I would take my XDs and Glock everytime. Its less pain scratching up a 500.00 dollar gun then a 1000.00+ gun and much less maint. :cheers2:
