This started on Sunday, so I don't know if it ends today (Saturday) or not. They have them in .270 and 7mm-08. The price is $179. I know they have them at the Fort Worth and Burleson stores.
P.S. You will NOT see these in their "online" ad. Apparently, it was a Texas-only deal, and folks in other states were printing out the online ad and raising a ruckus trying to get the deal. Because of this, they pulled the Stevens 200 pic from their online ad.
Stevens 200 for $179 at Academy

It did end yesterday.
What a steal! Wish I'd seen it.
The 200 uses 'hand me down' parts, formerly used on previous years' top of the line Savage rifles.

The manager at the gun bar in our local Academy said they had the same sale on "Black Friday" last year. He expects it to happen again this year. Of course, Black Friday is the day after Thanksgiving.
I marked my calender. :-)

Re: Stevens 200 for $179 at Academy
The guy at the gun counter at my Academy said they've had a pile of these in .270 and 7mm-08 laying around since Black Friday and that they dropped the price to try to move the stock.
I bought one in .270, plus a Bushnell Elite 3200 3-9x40. I was without a centerfire bolt-action rifle, and $180 was too good to pass up.
I'm definitely a rifle newbie, but it seems like a good gun to me. The finish isn't as nice as I expect it would be on a more expensive rifle, but that's not a big deal to me. The action is a bit stiff, but I expect that will ease up with use.
I'll post a report when I get it to the range (I'll probably wait until the weather gets a bit cooler).
