Well it's the wife's birthday today and she has been wanting a .22 rifle of her own. So I headed down to Academy after work and checked out their selection. I was originally looking for a Ruger 10/22 but they were all sold out. I'm actually glad they were though because I wound up getting her a Henry lever action .22 rifle.
Well I've also been looking to upgrade my Kel-Tec P3A2 to a Kel-Tec PF-9. So I stopped by Tomball Pawn today and picked one up for $269. We headed to the ranch and I put 50 flawless rounds of Independence 9 mm and then a magazine of Speer Gold Dot 124 grain 9 mm. Zero jams and shot well. I'm liking my new purchases.

Great pics! All three look like keepers!

You didn't shoot the Henry at the ranch? No range report or target pics?

Congratulations. Safe shooting.

Actually we did I just forgot to include that. It was hot as could be so we only shot around 50 rounds through it. Before we even started shooting it the sun hitting it was so hot the rifle was hard to handle. It shoots incredibly well with no jams and is very accurate. Also there is zero recoil using Winchester Western .22 LR 36 grain bullets. I think we may have to buy a pop-up tent if we plan on going out to shoot when it's this hot anymore. It was just way too dang hot to want to stand out in the sun.
