11 millimeters = 0.43307086614 inches and yes that came form a web search. That means they are less than 1/2 inch letters so the sign is not legally binding. The trial might be avoided but the ride and lawyer fees will not. Totally worth it to carry in my opinion. Keep quiet and concealed.

Could this possibly be a store that shows movies where the obviously undersized signs are hidden behind posters for said movies?

You know... just a guess...

Ignorance of the law is not an excuse. In my world that works both ways, for the buisness and the CHL. An invalid sign is just that.

11mm.

That's a good enough out for me. :cheers2:

11mm is nowhere near 1". It isn't even 1/2".

Nope. This sign is on a store at a Mall that many forum members believe is not posted at all, but they should be weiry of rogue stores.

Without giving away where said person works, I'll say that it's been posted (today) on texas3006.com, and requires insurance to shop there.

Actually 1" = 2.54 cm = 25.4mm, etc. or 1/8" ~ 3mm, etc.

Metric conversion lesson ended:

If one is going to disregard a 30.06 sign that is clearly proper except for the size of the letters, one should be prepared to discuss the owner's intent...in front of the judge.

What the hey, you just might get a RKBA 2A friendly judge who will dismiss the charge/s. Your lawyer, seeing that the judge dismissed the stupid charge/s against you might also dismiss his charge against you?

Go for it, we only live once anyhow.

{just foolin' with you} :smilelol5:

I don't understand the concern about the size the lettering on 30.06 signs. The law says at least one inch in height.

If you were to apply the same "logic" to speed signs you would get a ticket for going 45 mph when the limit is 55 mph. The cop, the DA and the judge would say "well 45 mph is pretty close to 55 mph so you're guilty." :rules:

:iagree:

Maybe that's why some people drive 10MPH under the speed limit.

I prefer the caliber method of metric conversion:
7.62mm=.30"
9mm=.357"
10mm=.40"
11.43mm=.45"
