Should I get combat cut or not?

Getting ready to order my Supertuck deluxe for the glock 30sf, but should i get regular cut or the combat cut. how much will this affect the comfort.

per their website this combat cut does affect comfort but will increase the draw time.

I searched this site and read this is one of the better holsters.

but please let me know.

I have 2 Crossbreeds. Got one for my Taurus PT145 without the combat cut, and one for my 1911 with the cut.

I LOVE the combat cut. Totally worth getting. Just makes it easier to get a secure grip on the weapon.

I did not order the combat cut when I purchased my SuperTuck.

The way I see it, their combat cut is generic. You might not like the way their combat cut is shaped, and you cannot undo it. It might be better for you to order a standard SuperTuck and try it as-is for a while. If you decide in the future that you want to trim a bit to create your own combat cut, you will be able to trim it exactly the way you want, customized to your own needs.

The way I did it was to put my pistol (unloaded) into the holster, trace around it with a marker, and then trim the parts I wanted trimmed (really just a fairly narrow 'channel' for my thumb to follow). This way, I do not sacrifice any comfort as I cannot feel any difference when I wear the holster, and there is a slot for my thumb to follow to get under the grip of the pistol, making it easier to get a good grip in it quickly.

Make your own combat cut, if you decide you even want one. Many people do not.

I have the SuperTuck and the QuickClip.

I didn't get the combat cut on either one. I will be doing my own combat cuts this weekend.

Without the cut, you (or at least I) cannot get a full and correct grasp on the grip. I don't see how doing the cut will affect comfort unless your pistol has EXTREMELY abrasive grips.

I have never seen a need for the combat cut.

I have no problem in getting a grip on my pistol with the regular cut they make, for either my SP101, or PT111.

An extra piece of leather between my skin and the grip doesn't make a difference when I go to draw my gun, and the extra leather keeps the sweat off the gun, which means less time cleaning or maintaining the weapon.

Either way, I think you will enjoy the holster, I would however order it regular.

As Vic said, if you feel you need to modify it, you can do it on your own after trying it for a while.

cool i think i will order the reg cut and modify if needed later, being i will have to break out the leather working tools i had from 25 plus years ago with i in the 8th grade.

IMO, a slight combat cut allows you to gain a quicker and more firm purchase on the gun when drawing it from the holster.

How old is yours? Those are not the clips that came with mine, which I got in 08.

Try the standard cut and see how it feels to you, if you don't like it you can send it back to them (or custom cut it yourself) for the combat cut. I have the standard cut, and have had no issues with it.Just remember in the end you can't add leather back to your holster, so IMHO starting with the standard cut is the way to go. If you don't like it change it. Just my $.02 anyway.

I plan on getting the non-combat cut in the near future 'cause I've always assumed that the non-combat will keep the handle from rubbing against my skin. Is that true?

No, with the Supertuck the grip of the gun will still contact your skin.

I contacted them, they don't make a model for the Bersa Mini 9.

My supertuck showed up today. I ordered the horse hide with the combat cut. Looking at it, I almost wish I would have got the standard and trimmed it myself, but I've yet to wear it with a pistol in it. I bought a 1911 then ordered the supertuck, and during the time between ordering and receiving the holster, i sold the 1911. I'll be picking up another one next week though, so no worries for me. I solved the grip contact issue by buying a couple of extra packs of wife beaters last weekend.

On another note, I dont see how people get away with tucking in a shirt while wearing this thing. Even without a pistol in it, it looks like I've got a large growth on my hip. There is no way I could pull off wearing this with a tucked shirt without it being painfully obvious that I had something in my waistband. Whether or not it would be obvious it was a pistol, I dont know, but I know it would look really goofy with one side sticking out like it does.

IWB and tucked are hard to come by. I find puzziling to carry in Pro work setting where most of the day time you are with same people and they will sooner or later figure out what was that deformation on your right side.
