A naked feeling this morning

Post by Mithras61 »

When I got dressed this morning I didn't don my holster & gun, since I was planning on working from home, and my office is only a few steps from where I normally store my pistol overnight.

I was sitting in my home-office working and a diesel truck came up the street and sat in the street outside my house.

I suddenly realized I didn't have my pistol on & even though otherwise fully dressed felt like I was running around with no clothes on.

Turns out the neighbor forgot to pay their gas bill & the truck was only Centerpoint out to shut off the gas, but the feeling of being naked was quite pronounced (and yes, I have it on now).

I have found it to be quite interesting how having a weapon can be comforting when the unexpected occurs. I was surprised by the feeling of nakedness when I didn't have it on me and the unexpected occurred.

I'm glad you were blessed with a scenario that proved non-threatening.

Just because you're paranoid doesn't mean they aren't out to get you. ;-)

There will be times when you can't carry. Secured area of airport, federal building, etc. At home though, you can carry 24/7. One day the guy putting the restaurant coupons on your door could get Solicitor Rage or something.
