Today I committed to buy this one:
1978

Based on a few good pictures and a reasonable price, I'm going for it.

Yeah, the analogy was meant to communicate that modern guns may have advanced and improved in many areas over the Gold Cups of 30 years ago, but the Gold Cup still stirs primal connections like lighting up bias ply tires going into third gear at 70+mph.RECIT wrote:Well drum brakes stink even with power assist...69 Chevelle or not! I guess they were the performance center of the ol' days?

LOL Yeah but drum brakes don't help with that. I get what you are saying though...burnouts in general are a thing of the past. Tires are too expensive on newer cars and traction control is only cool when it saves you from crashing.doc540 wrote:Yeah, the analogy was meant to communicate that modern guns may have advanced and improved in many areas over the Gold Cups of 30 years ago, but the Gold Cup still stirs primal connections like lighting up bias ply tires going into third gear at 70+mph.RECIT wrote:Well drum brakes stink even with power assist...69 Chevelle or not! Yup! You had to really drive the cars back then. No sitting behind the wheel with the cruise control on while you texted your BFF in those days!RECIT wrote:Well drum brakes stink even with power assist...69 Chevelle or not! I guess they were the performance center of the ol' days?
