Local Dallas source for .357 SIG FMJ ammo
Anyone know of a local source? I'm having a hard time finding FMJ in the Dallas area. Lots of JHP, but no FMJ. Before I place an order for a 1000 rds from Georgia Arms, I'd like to know if I can get some locally for a decent price.

This may or may not help you, but have you checked Academy lately? The one here in Cedar Park has had a bunch of WWB FMJ lately. Didn't notice price since I don't own a gun in that caliber. But you might call around to the local Academys in your area. Also - whenever GT Distributors opens in DFW area, they will probably stock it regularly. Seems they always have some available in the Austin store.

Walmart doesn't carry it. Academy doesn't carry it either. They do have JHP.

Bass Pro doesn't carry it. Cabelas does, but it's on backorder. Sheesh. Guess I'll have to stop by the Bullet Trap and pick up a box or three to tide me over.

Bachman gun and pawn off of Northwest Hwy and Webb Chapel normally stocks at least a few varieties in every caliber. Also if you don't mind driving to the HEB area, pioneer gun shop in euless has a healthy stock of ammo as well. Good people at both

I found it 2 weeks ago at Cabella's, bought all they had, a total of 4 boxes. My local Walmart has marked shelf space for it but is has been empty. When the ammo shortage hit that was all I ever saw, now that I own a 357 sig I can hardly find any.

You can buy 1000 rounds for $333 (including shipping) from Georgia Arms. That's the best price I've found anywhere. I was hoping to pick up at least two boxes to use this weekend so my wife would go shooting with me. May have to shoot JHP instead, just to warm up the new purchase.

Yikes! Bullet Trap wants $29.95/50. Targetmasters wants $36.95/50. DFW Gun Store wants $41.95/50. At those prices I might as well shoot JHP. Guess I'll be placing that order with Georgia Arms.

Geez...Cheaper Than Dirt doesn't carry it either. Does nobody with a .357 Sig pistol use FMJ as practice ammo?????

Looks like I will just buy some re-loadingg equipment and re-load the 357 Sig. I spoke with a very knowledgeable reloader who says that the brass can typically be used 2 or 3 times. I am glad I saved what I have shot so far, I am wondering if the brass Georgia Arms uses will be able to be reloaded. Now it is time to research loaders and try not to break the bank.... The cheapest I have found it so far has been $28.00, that was Cabella's.

I've read that you have to be very careful about reloading bottleneck cartridges. You might want to ask some of the experienced reloaders here on the forum. I suspect it should not be the first cartridge you attempt to reload.Salty1 wrote:Looks like I will just buy some re-loadingg equipment and re-load the 357 Sig.
