I agree totally.

The answer I present is common to most here... YES I would, And for many of the same reasons..already presented.. from because I can to.. Because I should.., if not me, then who?

I have been asked, why I feel the need to carry a gun.. I go though the police are warriors, but they truly have no requirement to protect individual citizens., Can not be every where at once, and well random crime is so, very random.. AS soon as someone can tell me 100% where the days crimes will be committed on my area.. I will leave my personal protection at home, and simply avoid those specific street corners where the crimes are to be committed for the day..

The short answer to the question posed is:

"Of course. And for the same reasoning I'd use for clicking my seatbelt on the way there, and for keeping a fire extinguisher in the house, and a first aid kit in the car, and......."

My heart goes out to the family. Those men willingly gave their lives protecting their children even after being wounded. No higher praise can be given a man than he was willing to do this.
What a tragedy for the children not to have them in their lives as they grow up, but they will grow up because of them. I have no doubt this deranged man would have left no survivors. It seems all too often people turn to this kind of revenge when they feel rejected. The more I accept the realities of the world, the more I understand the founding fathers who gave us the Second Amendment.

I would like to think that I would pay attention to such warnings and take strong action immediately (like calling off the birthday party, calling the police, and arming myself to the teeth).
I wouldn't call off the party, but I'd sure look into moving to McDonalds or some other very public place.

I'd also be packing more than one gun on me, a long gun in the car, and make sure various guests (specifically those I know to have a CHL or to be off-duty or retired LE, as well as any others I trust to handle evacuating the kids if a situation arises) are aware of the prior incident.

My thought exactly. "Hey kids, what do you think about moving this party to Chuck-e-Cheese?" Everyone says "yeah"and everyone lives.

I was at my Ex-wifes 2-year old nephew birthday party, carrying. I presume this topic was simply an example of why you should?

Oh indeed. The party may be for an angel, but no telling who else coming to the party is off-track, or who has an unhappy relation with someone who decides to cause a problem.
