I'm wondering how they reconcile this:
We urge the Legislature and Congress to repeal all laws that infringe on the right to bear
arms...
with this:
• Pass legislation that will reduce restrictions on CHL holders.

It would have to read as, "pass legislation that will eliminate restrictions..." in order to make any sense.

They may be considering the second statement as a step toward accomplishing the objectives of the first.

You do realize that being "pro-gun" (a vague-term used for simplicity-sake) does not necessarily equate to being a Republican, correct?

If Democrats were by default "anti-gun", we wouldn't have anywhere near the rights that we enjoy today.
This is true but only because this current crop of Democrat leaders are 100% anti-gun. Make no mistake about it. If this trend doesn't change, we're all going to be stuck with short, dull table knives as weapons like they have in the UK. These Dem leaders that are in charge today are just itching to enact total gun bans no matter what comes out of their pie holes. Twenty years ago this may not have been the case but it is today.

Perhaps your local Democratic representative claims to be in favor of 2A but I guarantee you one thing, if he needs money for his re-election or needs a project passed, he gets on board with the rest of those gun haters or he's out. Please don't delude yourself by thinking any other way. In this day and age, this is just the way it is.

If a Republican is anti 2A, to me that's worse. That particular person is inconsistent with his beliefs and should simply recognize him or herself as the gutless coward they are and jump ship to the other side so someone else can be put there.

Confiscating all privately owned firearms is the first step towards socialism and our beloved "O" can be described in no other way .

A vote for any Democrat in any election is a vote for the Democrat leadership and platform. Pick a side guys cause we need to clean house of anyone who is anti 2A and we need to fight to keep them out.

Perhaps it was written by a very bad lawyer.

Here we go ......... The TEXAS DEMOCRATIC PARTY PLATFORM.......
http://www.txdemocrats.org/wp-content/u ... atform.pdf" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false;

NOT ONE SINGLE WORD ON GUN OWNERSHIP OR CHL RIGHTS!!!! I shouldn't be too surprized that no one was able to identify "pro gun" (D) candidates at the Texas governor, senate or house levels.

Are you voting for pro gun candidate in Texas this fall? Let's keep it to Texas. None of us can vote against Rhino's or Socialist Demo's in other states.

We support a ten-year mandatory minimum sentence, without parole, for felonies committed with firearms.
... All gun owners are responsible for safely storing and operating firearms.
I see some of this as anti gun ..
So they are suggesting that if someone breaks the 30.06, they always get a 10 year minimum sentence? Seems kind of harsh .. Some things that are felonies are not always violent. We have sen the abuses of zero tolerance and it isn't pretty. Our Judge and jury system might not be perfect, but is better than law by decree.

The safely storing clause sounds like they might be looking for laws to make us keep our guns under lock and key.
