Houston Gunsmiths

Post by fecnik »

Does anyone know any reputable gunsmiths in the Houston (particularly south) area? Google likes to link ranges/smiths together and to be honest, i would like the boards input on decent smiths.

P.S. Smith work would be for 1911 style guns

He works out of his home (converted garage into a dedicated gun shop). He is located kind of behind Pearland High School on Laura Lane. his number is 281-639-6746, Todd Johnson. If you look at the 50th anniv edition of Shooting Times he made the wood stock, grip and wood handguard for the Ar they raffled off. I can post links to some of my guns he did if you want.

Thank you both.

I gave both places a call a few times, but no answer. I emailed Todd, so ill wait and see if he responds.

Chas, is there a good time to reach Vandenberg?

He works two full time jobs; gunsmithing is one of the two. I'd call around 6:00 pm to 6:30 pm.
