So, I asked for information in the FFL forum last week about FFL's to recieve a transfer.

The red tape, etc finally got finished so my Mother could ship down the handgun my grandfather left for me when he died (3 years ago... NY Gun laws... anyways)

Here she is, an unknown year Ruger New Model Super Blackhawk in 44 Magnum!

It looks like my grandfather did a custom front sight mod on it Really stands out!
Does anyone know how I can lookup the S/N and see when it was made?

So, with my serial number being 84-05XXX

And the chart saying:

Beginning Serial Number: Years of Production:
83-90986 1981
84-43801 1982

I'm guessing that means it was made in early-mid '81
