Re: Jumping out of a perfectly good airplane
That pic brings back memories! I went to Infantry OCS there and our barracks were right across the street from the towers. Little did I know then what awaited me as I watched the daily falls from the towers. I remember lying on the ground, awaiting a medivac helicopter to come that they called in, thinking, "well, this isn't good."
Anyone remember the name of the field they were on? I know we ran 3-5 miles on the track around that field daily in OCS and jump school.

They are officially not allowed but that doesn't mean that they aren't done.December '87 I recieved by "Blood Wings" for those of you in the know. Looked like I had been bitten by a 5' snake, bruised for 3 weeks.
I bet in the PC world of today blood wings are a thing of the past, like so many other traditions.

The jump was awesome and my friends and I have decided to make an annual event, or maybe more often.
I didn't spring for the video because I jumped for myself and know one else.
No blood wings.

I finished Jump School in July '67 went to Rigger School finishing in November '67. I quickly learned that there aren't any perfectly good airplanes or perfect parachutes.

Eubanks Field is where the towers, pre jump training and PT/ track is at, and Fryar Field is where we jumped.G26ster wrote: Anyone remember the name of the field they were on? I know we ran 3-5 miles on the track around that field daily in OCS and jump school.
