What form needs to be filled out to make your own silencer? I didnt see one on the BATF site that applied.

I believe you need to fill out ATF Form 1.

I checked my paperwork and you need to fill out Form 4 for a suppressor, http://www.atf.gov/forms/download/atf-f-5320-4.pdf" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false;

Form 1 for Tax Paid manufacture of NFA, which is what you need. Form 2 is what a Title 2 manufacture uses to make a NFA item. Form 3 is for transfer between dealers. Form 4 is for a Tax paid transfer. Unless the entity is a trust or corporation you will need the chief law enforcement officer to sign off and you will need to submit 2 fingerprint cards.

The form 1 has to be approved prior to making the suppressor or any items that make up the suppressor.

If you have any questions subguns.com and sturmgewehr.com are good resources.

Make or buy?

You'll probably find a lathe more useful. ;-)

Plenty of information at this link, both on building one and staying out of jail by getting the proper paperwork completed FIRST: http://www.silencertalk.com/forum/" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false;
